CognitiveTherapy

Involves treatment for children who have difficulty communicating due to injury to the brain is the area responsible for thinking, abnormal brain development, stroke, or neurological conditions due to diagnoses resulting in a cognitive-communication disorder. This type of communication disorder may impact memory, expression/ speaking, listening, and problem-solving. Cognitive therapy involves working on techniques for the child to improve on memory, working on pragmatics to improve on listening skills including turn-taking and listening to extract needed information. Techniques to improve problem-solving skills thus increasing the child’s ability to participate in daily tasks with increased independence.
